How do I buy a new domain name?

You can register your own domain name or domain names by searching here. Any domain names that are not in use can be purchased to for use with your website or simply for an email address.

How long do I have to wait to upload my website once I buy a new domain name?

On receipt of payment, the process usually only takes a few hours.

How do I transfer domain names to Design Extreme?

The easiest way to change your domain name registrar and hosting to Design Extreme is:

1. Have us collect your files on your existing hosting service (if required). We will even modify the configuration files so your website works straight away!
2. Change the DNS of your domain name with your current domain registrar (e.g. EasySpace, Joker.com, 123-Reg) to NS1.DAHOST.NET and NS2.DAHOST.NET (for UK servers) or NS1.XENACIA.COM and NS2.XENACIA.COM (for US servers).
3. Unlock your domain name with your current registrar.
4. Email the AUTH-ID (or EPP CODE) to the Admin contact (this may be listed yourself or your website designer). Send this code to Design Extreme.

This process applies to .com and .net domain names, other TLDs require a slightly different process. Changes to the DNS (where the domain name points to) should be rather quick. Provided the AUTH-ID is correct, the change of domain registrar usually takes between 2 and 3 days.

How do I transfer .UK domain names to Design Extreme?

Easy, just change the IPS TAG to: WEBTAPESTRY. Any hosted files can be collected from your previous hosting service provider if necessary
